Compound Sentence

1. Compound Sentence  แปลว่า  ประโยคความรวมหรืออเนกัตถประโยค หมายถึง  ประโยคที่มีข้อความ  2  ข้อความมารวมกัน  พูดง่ายๆ คือ  ประโยคความเดียว 2 ประโยคมารวมกันแล้วเชื่อมด้วย

co-ordinate conjunction (ตัวเชื่อมประสาน)  ได้แก่ and, or, but, so, still, yet, etc. และconjunctive adverb (คำวิเศษณ์เชื่อม) ได้แก่  however, meanwhile, therefore, otherwise, thus, etc.

                1.1 Compound Sentence (ประโยคความรวม หรืออเนกัตถประโยค) ที่เชื่อมด้วย  co-ordinate conjunction (ตัวเชื่อมประสาน)  ได้แก่  and, or, but, so, still, yet, etc.

ตัวอย่างเช่น

         - Venerable Tawan  can  speak  English  and  he  can  speak  Loa.

             ท่านตะวันสามารถพูดภาษาอังกฤษและสามารถพูดภาษาลาวได้

            - Phramaha Charoen does not  study  Loa  yet  he  can  speak it.

              พระมหาเจริญไม่ได้ศึกษาภาษาลาวถึงกระนั้นเขาก็สามารถพูดภาษาลาวได้

1.2 Compound  Sentence (ประโยคความรวม หรืออเนกัตถประโยค)  ที่เชื่อมด้วย conjunctive adverb

(คำวิเศษณ์เชื่อม) ได้แก่  however, meanwhile, therefore, otherwise, thus, hence, nevertheless, etc.

ตัวอย่างเช่น

         - Venerable Prakorng  was  ill, thus  he  went  to  see  a  doctor  at  a  hospital.

            ท่านประคองป่วยดังนั้นเขาจึงไปหาหมอที่โรงพยาบาลแห่งหนึ่ง 

         - Jess  comes  to  see  me at  a  temple, meanwhile  I  teach  her  Buddhism.

             เจสมาหาผมที่วัดระหว่างนั้นผมก็สอนพระพุทธศาสนาให้เธอด้วย

หมายเหตุ :  จากตัวอย่าง  จะเห็นได้ว่า Compound  Sentence  เกิดมาจาก  Simple  Sentence  2 ประโยคมารวมกัน  แล้วคั่นกลางประโยคทั้งสองด้วย  co-ordinate  conjunction (ตัวเชื่อมประสาน) และ conjunctive  adverb  (คำวิเศษณ์เชื่อม)

Sentence Pattern 1

       1. He sleeps.

       2. I sat.

Sentence Pattern 2

       1. He sleeps on the bed.

       2. I sat on the chair.

Sentence Pattern 3

       1. He sleeps on the bed in the room.

       2. I sat on the chair in the library

Sentence Pattern 4

       1. He sleeps on the bed in the room at the home.

       2. I sat on the chair in the library with my friends.

Sentence Pattern 5

      1. He sleeps on the bed in the room at the house at 20:00 pm.

      2. I sat on the chair in the library with my friends at the university.

B.  Rewrite  the  entire  passage,  but  change  Mark  to  Mary.  You  will  write  about  a  woman  instead  of  a  man.

Outdoor Exercise

            Mark (Mary) lives in the city, but he (She) enjoys being outdoors. When he (she) can, he (she) spends his (her) time outside. He (she) doesn't take a subway to work. He (She) rides his (her) bicycle. He (She) doesn't eat lunch in a restaurant. He (She) makes his (her) lunch himself (herself) and eats it in the park.  

            Museums don’t interest him (her) and concerts bore him (her). He (She) prefers to be outdoors and he (she) chooses to entertain himself (herself). Every morning he (she) runs and plays tennis in the park and almost every weekend he (she) goes hiking in the country. 

           Bad weather doesn't stop him (her). He (She) even gets out in the rain. Mark (Mary) is a healthy person. His (Her) outdoor exercise makes him (her) so.

เรื่อง Description

              Description is talking or writing about what people places and thing look like. When you read the paragraph that describing a subject you can see two kinds of details objective and subjective details. Objective details describe factual information about the subject based on the five senses (sight ,taste,touch,smell,and hearing),but subjective express the reader's personal opinion on the subject

             The United States has many national parks. Two popular national parks in the United States are Yosemite National Park and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.Yosemite National Park and  is big. It covers 1,189 square miles.It is the size of the state of Rhode Island, but is isn't as big as Yellowstone National Park or as deep as the Grand Canyon! The park is located in mid-eastern California.

            Topic sentence = Two popular national parks in the United States are Yosemite National Park and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
